Overview

Tamang Heritage trekking trail, as part of its rural poverty alleviation program, the Nepal Tourism Board established. the aim of the initiative is to bring tourism money to communities off the main tourist routes. Profits from the homestay accommodation, food sales, handicrafts, and Tamang cultural performances are split between the individuals concerned and village social funds. Gatlang, the largest Tamang village in the area, from where you can make the short day tour to Parvati Kunda lake. you can visit the hot spring pool at Tatopani. Tatopani was destroyed in April 2015 earthquake and many more houses were as well. Lies between the Ganesh Himal and Langtang valley north of Kathmandu, and next to the Tibetan border. The Tamang heritage trekking offers you spectacular views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrive in Kathmandu (1,350m/4,428ft)

You arrive at Tribhuwan International Airport. Glacier Nepal treks representative welcomes you at the airport and takes you to the hotel by privet vehicle. After a short rest, You will meet the guide at our office. You may have some questions about trekking he will give you an answer to the question. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 2 : Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1,510m/4,950ft): 7-8 hrs

After an early breakfast at the hotel, we make our departure from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi our trekking point, which is 7 hour drive. On the way from Kathmandu, we get to observe views of the Himalayan, including the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, and the peaks of the Langtang region. Overnight stay at the local lodge at Syabru Besi

Day 3 : Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,200m/7,217ft.): 5 hours

After having breakfast from Sybrubesi first we need to ascend up to Goljung Bhanjang from this viewpoint we can see the views of Tibet mountain Shishapangma, Ganesh Himal 1, Ganesh 2, Ganesh 3, and Langtang Himal after this place easy walk up to Gatlang village and this village on the hillside with traditional stone and wood houses. Overnight at Gatlang.

Day 4 : Gatlang to Tatopani (2607m/8550 ft): 6-7 hours

After having breakfast we descend to Thangmachet with magnificent views of Ganesh Himal and Langtang Himal. We reached Chilime hydropower dam and ascend up to Gongong we will stop for lunch at this place. After lunch gradual up to Tatopani. Tatopani means hot water but after the earthquake hit in 1015 no more hot water after that at Tatopani. Overnight at Tatopani.

Day 5 : Tatopani to Thuman (2,400m/7,874 ft) 4-5 hours

After having breakfast today we trek from Tatopani to Thuman Village via Brimdang. We reached the small village Brrimdang and from here one and a half hours gradual up to Nagthali passing through rhododendron, oaks, and pine forest. Nagthali is the best viewpoint of the Tamang Heritage trek. From Nagthali we can enjoy views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang Himal, Kerung,sanjen, and Tibetan mountains we will have lunch at this place after lunch all the way descend to Thuman Village. Overnight at Thuman Village. 

Day 6 : Thuman to Briddim (2,345m/7,693 ft): 6 hours

After having breakfast we have a long descent and cross the  Bhote Koshi river via Lingling and gradually up to Briddim Village. In this village, we can visit Dukchu Monastery(Gomba). Here most of the houses were made of stone and wood before the earthquake hit in 2015. Inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin and culture also similar to Tibet. Overnight at Briddim Village.

Day 7 : Briddim to Lama Hotel (2,470m/7,200ft): 6 hours

After having breakfast today we trek from Briddim Village to Lama hotel it takes about 6 to 7 hours. Our. the trail will be flat for about one hour up to Khanjima then after we need to ascend 45 minutes up to the top village and from this place, we can see the views of Ganesh Himal and Shybrubesi and Thulo Shybru the trail ascend to Ghophe Khola small river after that again we ascend to Lama Hotel via Ramche. we will reach Lama Hotel. Lama Hotel on the bank of Langtang Khola.Overnight Lama Hotel.

Day 8 : Lama Hotel to Langtang village (3,430m/11,253ft): 6-7 hours

To begin our trek for the day we start climbing through a forest of hemlocks, rhododendrons, and oaks high above the Langtang Khola, then we will reach Gumanchok in 25 minutes from here we will be at Ghunama and climb to Ghoda Tabela at an elevation 2970m. From this place, we proceed to Chamki through the Thangsyap then descend into a valley to cross a stream passing several water-driven mills to the large settlement of Langtang Village. Overnight stay at Langtang Village.

Day 9 : Langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa (3,870m/12,697ft): 4 hours

After having breakfast beginning of our trek we have a steep climb of about 40 minutes passing through the mani wall, the small village of Mudu to Sindum. one more hour of walking will reach the pastures of Yamphu. Crossing the Laja Khola and weaving through some rocks we climb toward the Kyangin Gompa. There are lodges in enough number at this place. We spend the rest of our day relaxing to visit a cheese factory and exploring the surroundings.

Day 10 : Trek back to Lama Hotel (2,380m/7,830ft): 4-5 hours

Early in the morning, we climb to Kyanjin Ri for views from the top we can see very close Langtang Ri, Langtang Yubra, Yansa Tsenji, Yala peak, Tsergo Ri peak, and Lirung Glacier back to Kyanjin Gomba after having breakfast following the Langtang Khola to Langtang village we continue retracing the route from Kyanjin Gompa to Lama Hotel.  Overnight stay at Lama Hotel.

Day 11 : Trek ends: Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi: 5 hours

After having breakfast at Lama Hotel we keep on retracing our steps to Doman and flat and cross the Bhote Koshi river which river coming from Tibet then we reach Sybrubesi. Afternoon sightseeing around Sybrubesi.Overnight stay at Sybrubesi.

Day 12 : Drive from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu

After having breakfast we drive into Kathmandu by bus which takes 7-8 hours and by jeep, which takes 5 hours with magnificent views of Tibet mountains, Ganesh Himal and Langtang  Himal. On the way, we stop for lunch at Trisuli Bazaar. After lunch, it takes 2-3 hours more for Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 13 : Final Departure

This is your final day in Nepal. Glacier Nepal Treks representative will drop you at Tribhuwan international airport by privet vehicle. Home sweet home.
